Health Care Assistants

Health Care Assistants are helping General Practice to provide more services to patients by freeing up the time of nurses and GPs. Health Care Assistants take on less complex but equally important tasks, which have traditionally been performed by Nurses. They work alongside GPs and Nurses, so that they can spend more time focusing on the more complex needs of their patients and less time on administration and paperwork.

The Health Care Assistants will make a valuable and meaningful contribution to the work of the practice team.

The Practice would like to congratulate Kirsty Mcpherson, Zoe Gallacher and Karen Lawrence on passing the training to become Health Care support Workers.

Now they are fully trained, the Health care Assistants are able to undertake Blood Pressure Monitoring, Venepuncture, Height, Weight, Body Mass Index, Urinalysis and New Patient Registration.

Appointments are now available with them on request.

In the month of February 66 patients did not keep their appointments for the Doctor and in addition a further 22 patients did not keep their appointment for the Nurse.
REMEMBER IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT PLEASE CANCEL IT.
